Super Sport 396
Possible COPO car??
Numbers Matching, 396 Big Block with GM Canada Documents...
This clean, solid big block Nova originally came from Winnipeg Manitoba. The body and paint are in very nice condition overall. The car is an original rare Double Black Cherry color coded car but, the previous owner had the car painted metallic blue when it was restored. None the less the blue paint is very nice and the car retains what appears to be all of its original sheet-metal with the exception of the bottom 4 inches of the 1/4's and the bottom 5 inches of the front fenders. Both these areas were repaired properly with metal patch panels.
The frame, floors and trunk are solid.
All Chrome, bright work and trim are in excellent condition. The interior and dash are also in excellent condition with no rips or tears.
This car is fully documented with a broadcast sheet and also GM Canada documents as an original L34 350 horsepower 396, with an automatic transmission and the hard to find buckets console shift option. There is also an unknown "ZJ0" code in the copo-f & so heading on the broadcast sheet?? One theory that has been offered is that all 3025 SS396 nova's that were sent to Canada were COPO cars because this model wasn't slated for sale in the Canadian market due to the Pontiac Acadian. It could make sense that a special Canadian batch of SS 396 novas came through a central office production order due to either demand or slumping Acadian sales?? That would make it a real COPO car but obliviously not anything super special like a 427 car! None the less, it's an interesting element to the history of this car...
. The car runs and drives excellent and all mechanicals are in working order throughout. The driveline is the numbers matching original to the car making this an excellent investment vehicle that you can enjoy!
Overall this car is in excellent show-able driver condition or an easy 75-80 out of 100. It turns heads and would be above average condition than most of the vehicles you'd see at your local cruise night. As with any classic that has been enjoyed, there may be a minor flaw, chip nick to be expected.
If you have any questions or would like to make arrangements to see the car in person, you can email or call anytime up till 11 pm e.s.t.
